Default turbo exhaust question?

the cops around here are anal about everything witch makes it bad for tuners...so my question is, if i run a exhaust cut-out say right before the cat or even on the downpipe with a stock integra cat-back exhaust will it actually do any harm to be running stock exhaust other then the power loss?

i dont see what the harm is to have a stock catback on it, by running a cut out prior to the catback, this would be your way of adding some power without upgrading your exhaust system fully

it'll throw your tune off. So basically you would want to have a tune with the cut out and a tune with the stock exhaust.

I made a custom 3 inch all the way back with no resonator and had a silencer in it and it wasn't that loud. Just don't be an ass and ride WOT all the time and you will be straight. yeah exhaust kills your spool and high end. I know

Best idea right here. Try and go with an oval style muffler and paint it flat black. Cops look for big shiney muffler tips. Even if its quiet, they'll get you. Make it look stock, and drive respectfully in neighborhoods and around cops, and you might get away with it alot better! Oh yeah, if its turbo, it'll smooth the exhaust tone down some anyways.

SOHC_Mshue on this board will tell you about his exhaust, 2.5" mandrel bent exhaust with es oval muffler on his y8 turbo setup. He NEVER gets pulled.

ive had a full 2 and a 1/4 exhaust with no cat. since i have a d16y7 the cat is right on the exhaust mani and with the turbo mani it eliminated it. and it was realllly quiet. never pulled. but if you wanna get pulled then go with a large exhaust and no cat. but if i was you. go with a full exhuast if your gonna do the whole turbo thing, its not going to be loud

hahahahahhahahahaha

best way to be quiet is to do a 2.5 catback, but cut a section off and put a glass pack on and weld it, then from the other end weld the rest of the exhaust to length and it will be pretty quiet, did that on the SR car and havent got pulled in it the entire time i had the car.
