My version of windows is corrupted as hell. I have a copy of windows 2000 from school (its sad, i know)

BUT when i try to install my 2000 over my current OS it says that the current OS i have is newer than the one I am tryign to install and wont let me continue the intallation. I'll take my cpu back a few years, I just want to let me continue the installation.

Can anyone help? Or happen to have a newer OS I can use?

 

are you using XP? Are you trying to do an upgrade from XP to 2000?

What service pack of win2k did you have on your pc before it was corupted? What service pack is on the win2k cd?

 

Going from xp to 2000 is not upgradeing its down grading.

So you have 2000 and trying to load 2000 or you have xp and trying to load win2k?

 

If you are trying to put win2k over your xp install you cant reload it over top of it, you have to do a clean install of it. Format the hard drive and then load the os. Please give some more details on situation.

Formatting the hard drive would wipe out all my movies and shit. Is there another way?
ANd yes its a down grade i know.
Full time college student = poor as shit. Hell i got the windows 2k cd from class.

 

Do you not have the reinstalation cd for xp?
