HELP HELP.
Ok heres the story. I have an 87 turbo New yorker. (4cyl SOHC) I replaced the head gasket and put her back together. TO get the belt off I just tapped the cam gear off the cam.
I have her TDC or very close to it.
ALl i need a shop to do is torque the head down (i didnt have a torque wrench) and put hte belt back on the gear.

in my opinion youd be much better off finding a friend/neighbor with a torque wrench and doing it yourself rather than lugging the motor to the machine shop, payin $60+/hr labor then carryin it back home. a torque wrench is extremely easy to use and are also available for rental.

Go buy one then take it back if you do not want to keep it. If you use it once you will use it again is my opinion

Buy a timing light and a Chiltons/Haynes and learn yourself how to set your timing. It'll come in handy in the future. I promise.

i'm so sick of turning wrenches - i have a timing light and the manual. If someone wants to come by and do it I'll just pay them.
