Default JDM H22a Turbo

Im running a JDM (or so im told) H22a (10:0:1 i think) on a Drag Gen 4 Turbo Kit at 5 psi. I want to run more boost. I was told to replace the bottom end (pistons, rods...). Is it safe to up the boost? Other articles say that the cylinder walls cannot handle higher boost levels. I do not want to fubar my motor. What needs to be change to handle higher boost?

h22a is jdm and it is 10.6:1 and you are going to blow your motor cuz u have no idea about what u have....im sorry

But to run more boost u have to get a better fuel system and a way to manage it.....u can run up to 7-8 psi on a stock block with very good tuning and still you are taking a very big risk......unless u rebuild it would be best to keep it at 5 psi and also learn more about your car!

dude I've been running 7 pounds for the last 2 yrs. on mine. with nothing but a vafc and a good tune. if you want to run more then that you need to sleeve it. the problem is not the stoch sleeves but the ring lands on the stock pistons. they are ass. if you want to put pistons in it you have to sleeve it b/c of the material that the sleeves are made of. if you just put forged pistons in it they will expand faster then the cylinder walls and you will fuck the motor. you could also lower the compression with a thicker head gasket and that should help a little.
no on second thought do alot more research on your motor before you start fucking w/ it. so you don't cost yourself alot of money.
