BTW, I have a dunlop Qualifier and i love it (better than the metzler i had in the rear). I've heard good things about the pilot powers too. But i think/feel like the PP are tires for more advanced riders; as far as i know, they're like race tires and shit. I think it would take a advanced rider (cojones) to actually USE, and take advantage of them. My dunlop has been very faithful to me so far.
190 to 180 can be a good move to some bikes as they never use the tire to its potential..... On a 1000, the rims are wider hence the reason for a 190 tire but on a 600, wheels are narrower and handle better with a 180 on the rear. Going to a 170 will just stretch the tire and if he does take a corner too sharp, dragging knee etc. ...... he will run out of tire!

As far as the Qualifier, they are a good long wear tire and Metzlers just blow in my opinion.
