Well I guess you would need spot putty to fill small dings
sandpaper ( ranging from 400 to 1500/2000)
block for the sand paper
bucket
water (for all the wet sanding your doing before and after the paint.)
primer (optional depending on quality of prepping)
obviously a very clean car before paint = you dont drive it while you prep it. Do it in a garage or at the lease cover it with a car cover/tarp if you have to work outside.
Paint it
more block sanding in finer girits down to polishing compound (no buffing until you get down to polishing compound.)

That will do on a buget and get good results if you put in the elbow grease.

*** Note*** I did not have masking/painters tape in here at all. you need to remove all your shit you dont want painted. do not mask it unless you don't care how it looks.
