paint shops ?!?!?
nah my buddy got a earl shieb paint job and it looked like some one jus threw paint on there and sreaded it around w/ a towel fuck that i mean i might have to jus save up a lil more money and jus get it done really goood im lookin to get a deep pearl purple its a factory color off the 09 honda fit i have color code and all
but,of course, every job's going to be different, and they may offer something with less extras-i'd definitely go get an estimate though-it couldn't hurt to at least find out.
there are also plenty of mid ranged(as far as price and quality)paces around here that are leaps and bounds above anything from Scheib or Maaco.i've seen several cars that i'd be more than happy with for what was spent.really, this is the way i'd go anyway.unless the car will be a show queen that hardly ever gets driven and is stored inside,i wouldn't want a full blown Wooding's job-it's just too much of a PITA to maintain and too much to worry about.

its been primed professionally but its needs a lot of cleaning and wet sandin to be flawless but the body is in almost flawess minus a frew dings i know a gut did his daughters car and it looks good but i font wanna trust him cause its a change paint kinda
does anyone have any good resources on how to properly prep a car for paint? i did some google serching but most of them didnt go into depth or explain materials needed. i am hoping to pick up a shell here in a few days and would like to sand and prime the car myself to save bucks on a full color change.

sandpaper ( ranging from 400 to 1500/2000)
block for the sand paper
bucket
water (for all the wet sanding your doing before and after the paint.)
primer (optional depending on quality of prepping)
obviously a very clean car before paint = you dont drive it while you prep it. Do it in a garage or at the lease cover it with a car cover/tarp if you have to work outside.
Paint it
more block sanding in finer girits down to polishing compound (no buffing until you get down to polishing compound.)
That will do on a buget and get good results if you put in the elbow grease.
*** Note*** I did not have masking/painters tape in here at all. you need to remove all your shit you dont want painted. do not mask it unless you don't care how it looks.
