I work for a small owner operated gas station and we get our gas from a fairly small private supplier . Every once and a while i'll talk to the driver and ask him where he filled up you'd be surprised what he say . One day it'll be exxone's tanks the next week it would be shell . Now they got there own refilling station they get there fuel straight from the pipe line . We have customers say they get better gas mileage when they fill up at our station compared to 7-11 shell Exxon . We also add our own additives in when we get gas and the water level in out tanks ( yes all tanks have some water in them ask the EPA guy that did our inspection ) is a hell of a lot less then the major brands . We are a small low volume station .
But like some others have said gas is gas its the additives thats added at the large storage places that effect the gas mileage as well as the water content of the fuel. My .02 cents
what station and where?
if gas is rated at 87 octane, isnt there a plus or minus 2 or 3 octane points?
