You're probably right on normal powdercoat being fine - how much heat could a naturally aspirated engine be pushing through the pipes anyways? Sometimes I wonder if I should take Jet Hot up on their free re-coating offer - it'll be a giant pain in the butt and a ton of labor, but I wonder if the first engine that trashed itself, and was thus sending a ton of oil down the pipes, is the cause of the header coating slowly pitting away.

Oh, and I just calculated it - round trip to precision powder coating would cost me $25 in gas...f my V8.

Can't go wrong with Peninsula Custom Coatings - their website lists 2 "galeria de fotografias."
