Default Octane Question

I have a 95 lexus sc 400 the v8 and was wondering do i have to run premium does it really matter or can i just run regular or midgrade. what are the pros and cons and will it mess up the motor if i dont run premium

It will say how low you can go in your owners manual.


Usually if you have a kinda high compression ratio then you use at least 91 octane.

the owner manuel just says 93 octane which is premium but its just a v8 how would regular hurt it?

and its hard to find 91 only race track has it and that is there highest octane every where else is 87 89 93 i believe

It would hurt performance, sometimes cause hard starting or no start. I had a GSR(JDM) with a 10.6 to 1 c/r, one of my cheap friends put in cheap gas. The next day my car wouldnt start till I figured it out.

damnit i was tryin to save gas money sometimes gas goes quick in a v8 need to drive my turbo laser again get 34 mpg on premium instead of 18-24 damnit man
