2001 Accord F/R Rotor/Brake Install
im going to attempt to install oem parts tomorrow. ive done them on vw's before and i needed a brake caliper tool to retract the piston back in on the rear. the front i used a c-clamp and the old pad to retract it back in. does the accord require for me to do this?

I am not sure on the 01's but the 04 that I had you needed to twist the rear piston in. When you take the pads out of the caliper in the rear look to see if the piston looks like a Philips screw head. If it looks like that then it twists in other wise you can use a c-clamp on it.

Yes, lefty loosy.
I'm pretty sure the fronts just need a c-clamp to back the piston out and the rears (like wright said) have to be turned.

ok what you need is a file for retracting back calipers. see photo
and then you need to extend the ratchet with some thing longer like this.
thats a jack lever. yes that just happened!

On the 01 accords I'm fairly confident u just push the piston back in with a c clamp or some big channel locks. But if not then the piston will have a cross pattern on the piston and will have to be turned in with a big flathead screwdriver or prybar will work.

Re: 2001 Accord F/R Rotor/Brake Install
thx for the help. i got off the 17mm with my impact. there was a total of 4 on each side i had to remove. as far as the piston goes i used a c-clamp and and one of the old pads to retract it
