H22 vtec problem

Default H22 vtec problem

hello. My friend put an h22 into my 95 hatchback. VTEC wont work. it might be bc the SRS light comes on? the check engine lights stills comes on. i also ordered a new ECU, wich i thought might be the problem. but its not. can anyone help me.

VTEC wiring, wired up? What all did you "use from the old motor" or is everything for THAT specific motor? What code's do you have...??

me friend checked all the wires. we used everthing new for the swap. he said it might be bc the SRS lights comes on. When VTEC is supposed to work, the motor stalls about 5000 to 5500 RPM. he cheked the codes and it says VTEC is not working

Try VTEC solenoid, Try taking the "SRS" system fuse out, reset the ecu. And try again.

SRS messing up Vtec?

SRS is supportive Restraint System....Airbags and Seat Belts...I have a SRS light in my 98 SH and my Vtec works fine....forget about the SRS light right now.

what codes are you throwing?

i found the problem, its the vtec solenoid

i could of told you that. always start with the manual 12v vtec engagement method. rule of thumb
