How difficult is it to adjust how hard the auto transmissions shifts?
I just recently got a 96 Accord 4 banger automatic LX. It has a pretty rough shift between gears. My parents owned it before me and they had the tranny go out on them, so they had a shop replace or fix it. But ever since then.. it has a hard shift. Its been a few years since the fix/replace... so i doubt anyone would "warranty it"
Anyways... any help would be appreciated.

 

Start by cleaning your solinoids and flushing the trany some times this will help. Make sure you use Honda automatic transmission fluid when you flush it.

 

if they had any type of shift kit put in it would do that from 1-2-3 or do you mean when you put it in gear from a stop?

 

hard shift is when the car is already moving

 

Sounds like they are low on Transmission fluid. Also, if you do get a transmission flush you are at risk. Your transmission could be messed up and the debris in the transmission could be actually helping it and by getting a flush it could create worse problems. But thats if you even have an Internal problem.

I got the same accord, same year, lx. My car does the same thing, dont worry about it, its a Honda thing.
