Anybody wanna see a ship sink?
I hate the UAW almost as much as I hate Ford.
Dave likes to chug the Haterade..
Your right, Toyota making their vehicle more dangerous for children, instead of spending a little extra money to make them safe, is not very bad. But I guess them knowingly putting out a dangerous vehicle is not what your talking about. And I'm also sure they make sure the customer knows about this problem during the sales pitch.
Regardless, children should ride in the rear seats, which all the recalled Tundras have. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that not one single child has been scratched as a result of this recall.
Now if you think that's in the same balpark as finding deadly flaws during pre-production testing, finding the solution to the flaws, making the concious decision to kill your own customers instead of using the solutions you found to make your products safe, indeed killing those customers just like you knew you would, losing millions in lawsuits because you miscalculated the costs of paying off the families of dead people who bought and trusted their lives with your vehicles, and then DOING IT ALL OVER AGAIN AT LEAST TWO MORE TIMES I'm sorry to say your perception is a little skewed.
I hope I made that clear.
Do you honestly think other manufacturers that have made deadly cars didn't know about it before they produced them. 70's chevy trucks, Montero's, Oddysey(sp), etc. etc. They all do it, your just blinded by your bloody wrecked explorer story.
And THREE TIMES? Do you honestly think that's acceptable? Maybe you're blinded by your ten scond pickup truck.
It's a big mean world, get used to it. None of them care about anything but getting your $.
Hmmm, I wonder if that can be Googled?
1) the write up on toyota removing the latch in the front seat so you could not place a small child in the front seat.- i would never ever place my daughter in the front seat of my car, if your child is small enought to be in any kind of booster, then they should not be in the front seat. if you pick up a childs booster seat, it tells you specifically not to place a child ridding in one in the front seat.
2) all cars/bikes/trucks have enharent dangers. so yes, during development if there was a problem that Ford blatenly ignored, i say
to them. this makes them look bad. and yes, other companies* have done it also, but that is off the topic at hand. dave is saying that ford is sinking due to the decisions the coperate body has made, and i say let them sink. all things must come to an end.
* chevy with the duramax 6spd clutch. (boiling the clutch fluid, for which they have yet to do anything about), clutch will go to the floor, and not allow you to shift/take it out of gear.
edit: did anyone other than me notice that the sales record for the ford trucks was compared to chevy trucks only. so the sales figures were not based off the sales of the ford truck line vs. the gm truck line (commercial sales only).

I'm glad there are actually people in this thread that can think outside of "der, I like Ford, der..."
Ford got caught, plain and simple. Were they wrong? Absolutely. Other manufactures haven't been caught. If you think Ford is the only one practicing immoral business decisions, you're blinded by hatred. Do you, Dave, also hate the cigarette companies with the same passion as you hate Ford?
