bumpy while braking
well i just got my tranny in my 98 nissan maxima replaced last week. it has been sitting on the street for three months before i got the tranny replaced. started the car a couple times every week just to the the engine running, but once i got the car back up running when ever i brake it feels bumpy like when the ABS would kick in. anyone have any ideas?
your brake rotors may have rusted and then warped while it was just sitting there. maybe the rust will wear away and they'll be fine or you might need to get them machined.
you dont use tire dressings do you? if you spray that on there it will slip, but if you don't it might be the rust.

more than likely, 3 months of sitting caused rust pits in your rotors... its a quite common thing. I recommend getting them resurfaced (if above minimum machining spec) and if youve got enough pad left, then reprep them (put a bevel around the outside, and grease up the BACK). If not then bite the bullet and get new rotors/pads. A pitted rotor never brakes as well as a non rusted one (obviously). And jjkamikaze, I'm not sure what youre talking about... overtightening the lugs DOES NOT warp your rotors.
