Beach police ID motorcyclist killed in weekend crash

VIRGINIA BEACH - Police have identified a man killed Saturday night when the motorcycle he was driving hit a sport utility vehicle.

Matthew Travis Platt, 22, of the 1700 block of Chase Arbor Commons died at the scene of the crash.

According to police, Platt was driving east on Bonney Road with another motorcyclist when an SUV traveling west turned in front of them. Both motorcycles struck the SUV on the passenger side.

The other motorcyclist and two passengers from the SUV were transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. Police did not release details on their conditions.

No charges have been filed, police said.

omg, does anyone have a description or picture of him or his bike? i really need to start learning people's last names. i think i did some work on his bike several times over this last year or so, if it's who i think it is.

thanks for that link. don't be put off by my post, but i'm truly sickened by this whole thing, and people's knee-jerk reactions to it.
