Got an interesting ticket tonight...
And if the judge wants to get technical ---
Television (From Wikipedia),Television is a telecommunication system for broadcasting and receiving moving pictures and sound over a distance. The term has come to refer to all the aspects of television from the television set to the programming and transmission. The word is derived from mixed Latin and Greek roots, meaning "far seeing" (Greek τῆλε "tele," meaning far, and Latin "visus," meaning seeing).
So the way the law is written you were NOT recieving telecommunications nor broadcasting or watching a movie, you were data logging. Just tell the judge you werent looking at it.

Also, factory DVD players in the front area are disabled with the vehicle in gear if visible to the driver, it's the law as well.
oh, I also thought it was kinda funny I had to wait 30 minutes for him to get another cop to come get a second opinion on whether or not my quicktime pros were legal.. haha...
A. No motor vehicle registered in the Commonwealth of Virginia shall be equipped with, nor shall there be used therein, a television receiver forward of the driver's seat or the screen of which would otherwise be visible to the driver while driving the vehicle.
Sorry guys, it is not legal to have a laptop monitor in view of the driver while he/she is operating a vehicle in this wonderful state. Try to twist the definition of television any way you'd like; you can't argue very well against the fact that a laptop monitor placed in the passenger seat is a screen that is within the view of the driver. Just pay the $75 and be done with it.
man in the words of N.W.A. FUCK THE POLICE the cop cars i have had the pleasure of sitting in a taking a few rides in they have laptops right in the middle of the front seat . And what do they get to use these for? to check for warrants, running plates which they do will driving. and my favorite to send fucking e-mails iv'e seen it happen

Do you guys not read what has already been posted TWICE?
Here's the third time, maybe it'll be the charm.
