first off, its not welding into the oil pan. Its tapping into the oil pan. Bring your return line to any Home Depot or shopping place like that and get a fitted for a tap. That would be your easiest route.
I would rather weld it (no leaks) then put a tap that is probubly going to leak. Also when you get it welded in tell them to cut off the back side in the oil pan so you don't have clearense issues.

true, a weld probably won't leak, as with a tap, done incorrectly, will.
