yeah, notice that i specified in my post that i was talking about B and H series engines.the K-series engines are just insane!i'm still blown away at how much power people are making with them totally stock and turbo'd with pump gas friendly amounts of boost.400-450 WHP is no problem whatsoever.

those power numbers should get him into the low 10's easily.there are plenty of Hondas in the high 9's with power figures similar to those.

Yeah pretty impressive truck to say the least, I raced that car back when it was ls turbo- pretty close and I only ran 8.7s on street tires, I dont know what it would be with b20 tho, Back to the k24 car, he didnt stop there but blew it up, the final numbers were like 646whp and 522 torque but finally put a hole in the block on 26psi and c16, still very impressive for a totally stock motor with 10-1 compression.

the OP in the Dakota is talking about 7.8s on street tires, with the truck not at it's full potential.on slicks,he's talking about low 7's!about the only way a stock internal boosted B20 is going to go low 7's is on slicks,in a full race car that could get down well below 2000lbs.

my point is that NO stock internal turbo Honda is going to be able to do anything with this truck in matching trim-street tires or slicks,on the track or the street.

as far as slicks not affecting anything from a roll-unless you're going from a 70+MPH roll,it would affect any turbo's Honda making any amount of power.from the usual 15 or 20MPH roll,my car would have it's ass handed to it by anything RWD.

to MP5:what are you using for management?1 BAR on a stock B20 is pretty crazy.i'm scared running 12psi on my stock C1 with a good tune.

chris
I said i was running slicks. I have never ran my car at the track with out slicks. With the tires i have on my car now i believe i could run a low 12 in the 1/4. And i believe i could get a 8.0 or atleast close to it in the 1/8th with the tires im running now. I no longer have a hard time keeping traction in my car because i drive it every day and have done so for 3 years. I even delivered pizza with it.

Dont make assumptions saying no stock internal turbo honda can beat his truck on the street or at the track. I know a guy in a bone stock ls in a hatch that was boosted that ran 11.4 in the 1/4. Thats right there with the trucks 11.3. And im willing to bet i could keep up with him on the street from a 40 or 60 roll. A stop he should be able to beat me with no problem. Dont get me wrong or anything. His truck sounds nasty. I just wouldnt go around making assumptions about people you do not know. Just because you have a hard time or cant do something does not mean someone else cant.

Also dont assume about others with not being able to get traction. I have no problems. You can ask many members of this board, and they will tell you that i can launch my car on the street as well as keep traction from a roll. If you want to say its because i dont make power then fine, i dont care how much power i make all i care about is the time slip which you can see in my sig and thats after i have run the car for 3 years.

As far as tuning, i am using hondata. I have even run 1.2 bar with race gas before. My next motor that i am puting in the car, which is another stock b20, I am shooting for 400+whp. Only thing ill do to it is put a thicker head gasket on.

i've seen VERY few 400WHP cars on stock pistons and rods.they might make that number, but only do it a few times.84mm bore on a B-series engine is not going to stand up to too much boost-i'm really impressed that MP5's engine has lasted three years at 1BAR.
around 14-15psi is about the limit on a totally internally stock B or H series engine, and that's pushing it bigtime.you better have a perfect tune(not the kind of thing you'll accomplish on an FMU and street tune).you still have plenty of weak links-thin cylinder walls/weak rods on the B20,crappy pistons on the H22,high compression on the VTEC B-series engines limiting timing-that are going to make it very easy to kill that engine.all of the Honda engines have relatively weak pistons and rods.
stock blocks can handle all kinds of power.my new engine contains stronger rods and pistons, but a totally stock block with stock sleeves.it should make around 500WHP.the H22 stock sleeves are capable of over 700WHP.

chris
I don't think anyone would run an FMU nowadays, or they shouldnt lol..

I was talking about ALL STOCK block, there are a couple H22's in the 550 whp range, all stock.. I have seen some b16's around 450 whp or so I think, there is a thread on honda-tech about it.. D's are around 350+ whp I believe

I guess you just have to have the balls to ride several thousand dollars on the fine line

An excellent tune is easily possible on the street imo.. I tuned my car from nothing (literally scratch, no basemap) on the street, and that's in open loop only.. I have no knock according to plugs/phones and super leniant AFR's..

What kind of tires are you runnin mp5, sounds good to me, the only thing I can think of that would hook that good is nitto 555s or bfg drag radials which chris totally said a true STREET tire, just cause its got that dot on it dont mean it is a true street IMO. Hell my times change close to have a sec on motor between drag rads and street tires and I got some hella good street tires. I have seen some good launches from turbo hondas with street tires It just not everyday that u come across somebody that has there car that well setup to doit.

i used to run 225 50 15 BFG drag radials, but now i am running 225 50 16 Falken Azenis RT615 and the grip just as well as the drag radials did and are as you put a true street tire.
