I don't think it was the starter. The motor seems to be locked up. I tried to turn the crankshaft pulley today with a big ass ratchet and it wasn't turning at all.
Does anybody know the best place to get my spare motor swapped in?

 

this may sound stupid but is the car in gear when you try to turn the crank pulley?

 

Yeah, the car was in neutral and it still didn't budge.

 

pull the plugs out and then try and spin the motor. has the car been sitting for a while?

 

5sfe is an easy swap, i did my own with my buddy, just do it yourself. Just make sure when you put the motor back in attach the trans first. Makes it easier.

Did you check to make sure you were getting fuel??? Did you check the fuel level? could your gas gauge be off...

something stupid...but always worth a check.

sounds like you need a new starter.

 

It's been sitting in my driveway ever since it shut down on me on the highway a few weeks ago. When I got it started again it sounded like it had a really bad rod knock. It would start up occasionally but now the motor doesn't even turn.
It should be getting fuel because I filled it up half tank the day before it broke down and I only put 11 miles on the tank.

 

sounds like you spun a bearing and the engine has locked.
