well like the title says, my ac and heating controls dont really funtion. when i press the buttons, the lights and stuff turns on. but nothing happens electronicly or temperaturely, i can hear the ac clutch engauge and disengauge when the press the ac button. but thats it. other then that nothing else works. ill appreciate all answers. ps i got this car like 2 weeks ago. i just havent had time to learn it.

 

What do you mean nothing works? Does it not blow air ? Can you change the different modes (defrost, floor, ect..)

 

it blows air but i cant change temp or direction

 

Mode door. I believe most are vacuum assisted so you could just have the hose ripped or torn off. Usually the car will default to defrost only when it messes up like that.

 

and where would this be located

 

It would be in your dash next to the blower motor. Basically its two flaps that have hot/cold air coming out if it. They work with each other to control air temp and direction of air flow(but not all the time). Since I dont know your car it could be controlled with a cable, electrically, or with vacuum.

You need to find a service manual for you car so you can find were everything is then start diagnosing.
