Holy shit! What is security offering to do for you? Have you contacted Goodwill yet? I can help you subrogate that claim myself... unless you've already turned it over to insurance. I guess there is a possibility that you may not even realize or feel it if you're in the cab of an 18 wheeler, but I'm pretty sure the driver would realize he ran over a fucking car. Blatant disregard to the rest of the world! What if you had been in the car? ...or what if he had ran over you as you were pushing a stroller to the car, and he kept going? Fry him!

First thing is first, you definitely need to bring it to their attention first before you consider sueing. If they have any sense, they will offer a settlement right off the bat to correct the issue. Did you contact the police and let them view the tape? Try to get them to write up an accident report for it, but they may or may not do that if it was on private property.

...anyway, I'm not saying you're going to get these people for ten million dollars, but I want to help you get what you deserve and what is fair. If they turn their cheeks when you tell them you have it on video and bring it to their attention, sue the fuck out of them. I'll help you along the way.......

lol, Yeah, I made Marie call the police and have them come write an accident report. For future reference the officer told us that there is not much they can do for damages under $1000 on private property. The Jeep by far passes the $1000 damage area. The officer did watch the video and him and HSN were both going to be contacting Goodwill to try and find out the guys name and contact info that did it.

And as far as submitting it to the insurance.. we have not done a thing yet because we are waiting to get the info on the guy who was driving the truck. Hopefully we will be able to find out something today so that we can at least get Marie in a rental car for time being.

Well you don't exactly need ALL the information prior to contacting insurance in this particular case... Your insurance has a subrogation department specifically for situations like this where you are not at fault and they get to play the game of going after the bad guy. It's a fun job. Full coverage on the Jeep?

By getting all your cards in a row prior to contacting the insurance company, you're potentially speeding up the process, but I wouldn't wait any longer. Let them do what they do. It's their job to gather all of the information, and find out who the driver was, and take action. You've got all the evidence you need.

With that said, let them do the leg work. Keep me updated throughout the process and I will most definitely coach you along to let you know who needs to do what and whether or not you're getting reamed or if it's fair expectation. If the truck was clearly marked, it will hopefully not be too hard to identify who the driver was. At worst, Goodwill may not be able to pinpoint an exact driver, but that's irrelevant for you. The proof is in the pudding. A Goodwill truck ran over your Jeep, on video, and they are liable. They will pay.

Well, Marie just called HSN and they have been talking to Goodwill all day and have pinpointed who the driver was. So I guess some of the hard work is taken from the insurance company already.

Just a thought here but as most ppl know goodwill employs some...uh..."challenged" people. Maybe one of them didnt take their meds, came unglued, and decided to go joy riding?

None the less I feel your pain when it comes to getting crashed into by idiots that are on the road.
