Fine
3 most powerful lsx engines
1. ls7 06 Z06 505 horse
2. ls6 Earlier Z06 405 horse
3. LS2 vette/gto 400 horse
Average 437 horse
3 most powerful ford modular engines
1. Ford GT 550 horse
2. Ford gt500 500 horse
3. Ford 03 cobra 390 horse
Average 480
if you compare even more engines it gets even more stacked in fords favor because on down the list you still have the 385 horse cobra R and 380 horse lightning to round out the top 5 which still puts the average of the top 5 at 441 which is still more than the average of the 3 most powerful production chevy lsx engines.
Why not compare the ls9, gee maybe because they haven't sold a single one at a gm dealership yet.

. How about compare price vs. performance and see how the odds are stacked?
Let not forget kiddies the 03/04 Cobra was actually more close to 430HP severly underrated from Ford for insurance purposes, im sure some Chevy's were also, but I dont think by that much.
they go higher than 380 you probally looked at a stage 1. but if ya wanna keep arguing thats fine just remeber that some of your fords needed blowers to get there numbers . this is beating a dead horse. this argument could go on for days and would end up right back were it started, nowhere. but i guess its easy for you/others to set here and say aww man that cars quick/fast when you infact do not have a car that compair to any of those mentioned. and MO you hush it you dont count

I don't care if the "Stage 22.7" package has 11tybillion horsepower it is a tunercar and it isn't relevant anymore than the saleen s7 or s351 is as a ford.
I don't care to argue about this stuff, the only point I was trying to make throughout this whole thread is that the lsx is a good engine but the lsx fanboy bandwagon puts it on this pedestal like it is the best engine ever created and is faster than anything and the facts just aren't there to back this reputation. It is a fine fine engine, but in a max effort race application it has been bested by regular sbc, windsor sbf, and the ford modular engine. This doesn't make it any less of an engine, I have just had to listen to way way too many lsx fanboys that won't even acknowledge that any other engine can be near as fast.

Oh, I couldn't agree more with you that an LSx engine is not suited for an all out race application. Aluminum blocks are only meant to hold so much hp, and there are many engines that can be bored to ridiculous cubic inches and/or blown/sprayed, and put lsx's to shame. The simple fact is the lsx series is a very stout motor put in many production cars, with a decent amount of aftermarket support, just like the ford mod motors have become.
W2W went 6's back in the day with a stock-inch LS1.
