I use no excuses and require none either. I'll race from a dig, a roll or thru a trailer park........don't matter to me 
Jay- I think I am doing the NASA event in March followed by both Mazda Drivers events. You would absolutely love the experience @ VIR..........bring the silver bullet. Price for a two-day Mazda Drivers event is about $350ish for ~ 4 hours of track time w/instructor. Pretty reasonable.
