Well....personally, i would put all the factory things back on just to get a feel for the bike straight out the box. Its nice to know how it feels bone stock, and then do mods to compare how the difference is to see if you like it or not, but thats only my opinion. If you like it the way it is, more power to you dude, but just be careful cornering.

id return to stock also, whether you into putting your knee down, or dragging ..having full steering capability is also a plus. also less flashy towards our friends in law enforcement.

id also say, dont start on a liter ..just from personal experiance, theres lots of things to be learned without the power involved. but i'm not gonna talk to you like a newb, just RIDE SAFE! and respect, respect, respect the bike.

Gixxer 1K is a great bike with plenty of power. You already have the right attitude by respecting the bike. Enjoy.

I hate how quick some people are to insult and turn away new riders. It's supposed to be a lifestyle of a sort, and we should be welcoming... not turning people away. You know? It's a brotherhood. I don't care if it's stretched 15 inches or if it's an AMA track bike. We all love the same thing, despite different styles, right?

Welcome aboard Gyl!

I have an '05 Kawasaki 636 but I would love to have another flashly bike to take around town depending on my mood. I love the mountains like no ones business but there's nothing wrong with a little straight and flat through town. My last bike had everything done up in chrome and everything that wasn't chrome was polished, and it turned a lot of heads. I enjoyed that attention.

Quit being haters y'all.
