Sounds like a great show, I may be able to make it. Only a 3hr drive from VA Beach. Plus the car will be clean from the show on Saturday in Currituck.

I have one question

The money raised from the car show contest will go to the B.R.I.T.T. Charity which gives free taxi rides home to teenagers so they do not DUI.

Am I reading this correctly? My money is going to go to people who are going to give drunken underage kids a ride home so they don't get caught? One; what are underage kids doing drinking? Two; if they are drinking, why are they anywhere that they need to be driving home?

Ya kn ow that stood out to me too. If they are teenagers and are out drunk the only ride they need is in a police car.

I'm not looking into anythign i'm just reading what he typed.

 

Hey let me try and clear it up a little, a girl was killed a few years ago after riding in a car with friends that had been drinking. I believe this foundation is something akin to giving condoms to kids in high school- you don't WANT them to have sex, but if theyre going to, do it safely. Same idea, of course no one wants the teenagers drinking, but if they are, isn't having a free safe ride home better than driving/getting into a car with your friends that have been drinking?

 

There is a huge difference with that, I can care less if kids are having sex because it's legal. If they do/dont want to wear a condom isn't my problem it's their's. I understand that everyone wants a safe ride home for their kids, but I also think that there is some kind of recourse for having a drunken teenager in your car whether your just giving them a ride home or not. Lets say that this individual whose kindly enough to give a ride to an underage drunk, gets pulled over for whatever reason. If the officer sees that drunken teenager in the car, what do you think is going to happen to the driver? I understand that kids are going to drink, nothing is going to stop that. But kids need to have a plan before they go drinking and not put themselves into that situation.


Anyway this thread is about the car show so I am not going to jack it any more.
