The ebrake switch, which is what it's meant to connect to, is just a switch to ground. If you just put a toggle switch to ground, and it's working, you're obviously doing something wrong. To at least be compliant with the laws, just in case you get pulled over and need to show it works, wire the enable to both your switch and to the ebrake switch.
There should be 2 grounds. You have to ground them out (of course lol) and it will work. At least it did for the one I had. The one I had, had two lime green grounds, one from the harness, the other from the brain.
