You really think he's gunna go to jail? i suspect he would get his license suspended and have to pay a fine. which sounds perfectly reasonable good to me.

It's that hes been caught for this same shit now 3 times before he's even turned 18. It's a reflection of his frame of mind, and it needs to be changed. THere's no reason he should get off easy. it's not like he's earned it.

He's 17, this is his third ticket in a year, and a Prelude is too fast for him.

What would you do? Suspend his license and he still drives in hopes of not being caught or send him away for a weekend or two and see what happens to people that habitiually break the laws?

So then I guess murders and rapists don't have the right to legal representation either? Basically what your saying is anyone caught with an offense worse than a small speeding ticket doesn't deserve a fair trial and should go in unrepresented? What he did was dumb but he has every right to a lawyer and he absolutely should get one. He deserves punishment, but if you go into a courtroom for 92 in a 65 with out a lawyer, with his record, they will probably make an example of him and give him more than is really necessary. When you get a lawyer for 92 in a 65 its not really to try and get out of it, and it sounds like he takes responsibility, its to make sure the judge uses lubrication when he fucks you, damage control basically.

And from everyone I've spoken to its quite likely that charge will get a little jail time, although he's just lucky it was in a 65 and not in a 45 like me.

i'm not thinking he's going to be getting unreasonable punishment. I'm also not disputing the right to legal representation, i just don't think he should get any breaks because he doesn't seem to respect the law/roads/others around him nor does he seem to really identify his actions as being in poor judgement.

i'm not saying he needs to go to jail, but he shouldnt skip out on whats due him for tripping up 3 times now in a short time.

Suspend the license for a year. If he has good parents, they'll enforce it taht he doesn't drive and he'll hate life enough to hopefully not speed again.

Yea, I think he has a chance of it. I saw a sailor go in for 10 days in New Kent for a 100 in a 65 and 95 isn't that far off from 100. They're very strict there.
