Ya I've gotten a bunch of offers for good bikes for 1000. Nothing against your bike, but I'm not in love with the styling of the seca's. So far my favorite body styles are teh CBR, GSX, ZX6 bodies. I guess typical sport bike bodies.
you never know, you might get lucky i guess.
look around long enough and talk to enough people and you may come across a screaming deal. i do it all the time
and unfortunatly, in reality, they're all way over your $600 price range. you're gonna have to up your available funds to put towards a bike, or settle for something less pricey. even a first year cbr600f2 with a ton of miles on it is going to pull more money than you're looking to spend. and like i said before, a $600 bike is bound to have a bunch of problems that will require time and money to get straightened out. if someone is selling a $1500 bike for $600, there's probably a reason for it.

Where do you do your bike shopping?
My advice is that yes, you can find a $600 dollar bike. I recommend getting a shop manual and some good tools. The good thing is that with a $600 bike, you will get to learn how to work on the bike...or find someone who can work on it cheap.
I agree with the others, save some more money and get something in better shape. I know it will be tough, but it will work out better in the long run.
true, i buy bikes that need work on purpose. it's very very easy to get deals on bikes that need work. since i work on them for a living, i have no problems doing it. i end up buying cheap bikes, putting in my time and effort to make them right, and reselling alot. i've been thru probably 10 bikes in the last 12 months, lol.
I'm not really looking for a bike I can just jump on and go. I wouldn't mind putting some work into it, as long as i dont have to do any crazy engine work. Like I said a friend of mine offered to do it as long as I learned. Where in the newspaper do they have cheap bikes? I can't find em!
Found a couple posts that had to be steves...11 years as a mech? I didn't think you were even that old!!
The the one looking for the KLR/KLX basket case...gotta be you!!
