Going for it.... 15,000 mile oil change interval.
I change mine every 3,000 miles.
I haven't changed my oil yet in my new motor. I only got 180 miles on it.
Once the turbo kit goes on again, it'll be 2500-3000 miles again. Probably around 2,000 when the oil gets black.

When I had my S2K, driving almost exclusively highway miles, I was putting Mobil 1 synthetic every 5-6k. Oil was almost always still the same color as it was coming out of the bottle.
Since getting the Grand Cherokee, I have been putting in the 7500 mile mobil oil. Changing it about that often. It does not seem to be hurting anything.

My black '93 SHO had a 26k mile interval of oil changes. Aka, I owned it for 26k miles and never changed the oil until the week before it was totaled by my dad.
LS7 is friction free...........no wet sump required. Ok, it has a dry sump system just in case.
3000K mile oil changes are remnants of the dino oil days. I still usually do Mobil 1 about every 5000 miles in my truck with an occasional towing. Z06 when the oil life% indicates 10%.

My 2.4L tacoma has been run on mobil one since the 2000 mile mark. for the first 150k miles I used a 5k mile oil change interval. Since 150k I have been using a 10k mile oil change interval. Now at 260k miles the tacoma is still running strong, but in the past 20k miles it has started using about 1/2 quart every 5k miles.
I've been trying to decide if I want to buy Mobils 5k mile oil and change it at 5k mile intervals or use the 15k mile oil and continue to change it at 10k mile intervals. my whole reason for the 5 and 10 intervals is fo I can remember when the oil change is due.
I just bought the 15K mile oil yesterday and plan to go the route of 10k mile changes until she dies.
BTw the truck has never has its timing chains or guides replaced. I think the oil loss is actually from a worn front crank seal. When time permits I'll fix this. but for now its all good.

^ My '01 burt a quart every 1200 miles... then I had the valley cover replaced and the re-ring done. I also run 5w40 oil. Now I used maybe a quart between 7-8k oil changes.
Nothing like it used to be.
