Thinking about trading the VR-4 in....
thanks for taking the time to help me consider this, if you're hoping for a decision to be posted I hate to disappoint, but the result of the thread will be rather inconclusive. I will have to think about this for quite a bit, longer than this thread will last anyhow.
If I am patient about the house thing, it would be about a year or so. (Quicker if I can get a middle east trip) I could then keep the car. We will see, we will see.
Thanks for the advice guys and gal.

If you are seriously getting very good offers. Sell it and move on IMO, car making that much power is going to break eventually right?
I wish i could come out even on my integra....same car i said id never get rid of. It's for sale
But if you are seriously getting offers better then 40k as you hinted at, how could you not? Also I'd explore other housing markets, im looking to Jacksonville, FL. You get a lot more for your $$$.

Jay,
I love your car but if you have a great offer take it.
The house will get you more in the long run.......except for pussy. What chic could resist your car?

Sell the car, but tell the person buying it that if they ever decide they want to get rid of it to offer it to you first. Its sad when you see the type of car that you had and loved and got rid of. Its sad every time. But you may be in a much better position to own that car again in the future.
Thats my plan anyway. I bought my car before I could really afford it, and it screwed up a lot of shit for me. I plan to be totally debt free, minus a house payment, and have a big down payment next time I pick up a dream car.

40k you say. Sell and buy a f-body LS1. 35k for down payment on a house. 5k for a quick to modify 12second car. Tho your car is a work of art. I think you will enjoy a f-body on its cheap maintience and ez of modifying. Good luck whatever your choice is.
buyers wont stick around for ever, your car is getting older and depreciating as far as the base price goes. not to mention the market for cars shifts and while 30-40k might be forseeable in the short future a new trend might come along later and you can only fetch 25k or so....
Not to disrespect anyone on here or what you all like but the way i see it is sell it and get a house, there comes a time when you get out of the "boy racer" cars and step into housing... making money, and getting more sofisticated cars... and women... just food for thought

The house thing is always and will always the most important. However...I promise you, after all so done you will hate yourself for selling the VR. Not because of the car...but because it IS a bit of you.
fuck the scene
Think of it this way...after the house...after a while in a good job...there WILL come a point in time that you will give anything to have YOUR VR-4 back. The sad thing will be that NO money in the world will ever make you feel as you do about your VR-4. Not even another VR-4.
Trust me, I see it every day. I work at abacus on restoring rich mens cars and I hear their stories about the TR3 or Stingray or whatever they had in college. How pissed they are that they ever sold it. How their spending tens of thousands of dollars to replace something they sold 30 years ago...because of kids...or a house.
I am that way with my CRX. I'm the original owner, I have built it to hell and back, and I would rather be in debt than to ever sell it.
Yes...I am that old!

great point, because as soon as you give your keys away, instant regret. I know the feeling...
