You can live in your car, but you can't drive your house.

But yeah, priorities:

house > car.

If there's any way to keep the car and still acheive your goals, do it. Some people have cars they like and then there's people like you. I hate to sound wierd about it, but that car is a part of you. You've put more in to that car than probably anybody else on this site. You will SORELY miss that car if you get rid of it. Even if you get the Noble or a Ferrari or something like that, it will never be YOUR car like the 3000 is.

If you do get rid of it, you'll end up as one of those old dudes at Barrett Jackson who spends half a million for a car they used to have when they were younger just for self fulfillment purposes.

If you cant afford the car and a house you are not ready to buy a house. Just imo. It's not like you have 100,000 in that car? All you time and effort, hand done by you does not have a value and you should keep it until the end of life. If you are really ready you should not need to sell the car!

House...unless you're just going to sell your car and buy another 3/S later. I love your VR4 even though I hate the 3/S platform but IMO its better to try new platforms than to just stick with one and miss out on what else is out there.

You are making it sound like Jay didn't build this car from the bottom up. It would take mass amounts of money to replicate this car. If it is possible Jay, keep the car and try to save money for a house. You will cry when this car is gone and there will be NOTHING that can replace it.

I feel it's just a car. If its what it takes for you to get into a house, do it.

They're also pretty much all rich. I never said buying a house was a bad idea at all. The only point I was trying to make was that in a case like Jay's, with a car like his, He should make available effort to keep the car when he buys a house.

In my opinion, if you're looking at buying your first house, and you have to sell a paid off car to afford it, you should probably look at a little smaller house.
