Default Good roads to ride with little traffic?

Me and a couple friends all picked up bikes this week, and none of us are that experienced with riding in traffic yet. Unfortunately, though, we all live in high traffic areas. Are there any roads near the Newport News/YC/Williamsburg area that are good for going out and cruising and getting seat time on the bike without worrying as much as idiots who fly through traffic?

Parkway. Where I go when I just want to go for a little ride.

The back roads off of 17. Go out towards the refinary. All those roads are good.

What did you pick up?

'06 CBR 600RR with 2600. Paid 7900, little more than I would've liked, but I'm just happy I was able to get it.

Nice. Be careful and get some gloves and a leather jacket.

And you should have bought mine.

Thanks for the info on the CBR forums. I was actually just about to hit up google to find some.

And the gear will be bought before the bike is ever taken out of the neighborhood, but seeing as it was used I wanted to at least take it for a spin to make sure everything was good.

I plan on getting eliminator kits eventually. Right now I'm going to concentrate on gear, frame sliders, and making my payments on time.

Won't catch me wearing extreme gear in the summertime. If I go down, chance I'll take. If I know im doing some backroad riding with some twisties, yes. Other than that....nopppppppe
