I have a 96 S-10 work truck that i need to put a radio in. It origanlly came with a standard AM/FM cassette player but while looking around on EBay i noticed that the CD player's that came stock in the same model/year are not too much more expensive. My question is can I install a factory CD player in my car (plug and play) or is my wiring harness not setup to run it?
if your buying a factory radio you will not need a new plug. your factory plug will plug right in
so even though my truck came with only a casette player it should run the cd player radio without a problem as well? Same plugs in the back and what not?
i just went and pulled up my metra catalog. they had the same harness from 89 through 02. the only that concerns me are the mounting brackets. the description on the radio shows from 98-02 though.

ya i saw that, its cool i found one that came out of a 96 s-10 and i know that one will fit mounting hole wise since all 95-97 s-10's were the same i believe.
