I have the 5.7 in my truck, Peppy as shit, and you can tell the bitch has torque. When I Pull the car trailor I will let you know how it does. But it also said that the tundra doesn't have shit on the f150 when it comes to payload. They say the frame on the tundra is weak.

I wanted a power stroke, just didnt have 52k

Yeeaaaaa...

What's your towing capacity Allen? Pretty sure the Tundra's got 100hp and ~60 tq on the 5.4 F series.

To each his own. I just think you should've taken a look at the Tundra (if you didn't,) lots of power/tq, better looking IMO and the inside is like a fucking luxury car.

Toyota has come a massively long way and has invested billions into their truck line to compete with Ford. Not there yet, but their trucks have come a long way. Toyota is marketing towards weekend warriors of Home Depot at the moment and can't even get close to the money making fleet and commercial truck lines.

Sorry, but I bought a real truck. Take a look at the work trucks in the background of those Toyota commercials...you'll see Rangers, F150s and F350s but there is only one Toyota. Wonder why?

The 5.7 Tundra has 81hp and 36tq over a 5.4 F150 (381/401 vs 300/365). You want low rpm tq and that's what the Ford has.

As far as towing capacity, I think Toyota is making up shit. They have the same towing capacity for every truck configuration...how the hell does a standard cab 2WD truck have the same capacity as a 4WD crew cab? It can't, but Toyota lists it as 10,100lbs across the board. FWIW, Ford advertises 9900 for a 2WD Standard cab and my truck is at 9600.

I've always had a truck, and my 05 FX4 SCrew is the best truck that I have ever owned. I wasn't sure about the seats when I first bought it, but they are very comfy on long trips and I am perfectly happy with the interior. I've pulled my 3600lb Mustang to Myrtle Beach, Virginia Beach, and Nashville with plans to pull it to Norwalk this fall. I've never had a problem passing cars, keeping up with traffic, or getting up hills. And the truck still manages to average 16 MPG with the trailer.

Ford does much more testing than Toyota, so their numbers are very likely from field tests rather than lab tests. The number just over 10k strikes me as a number crafted for marketing.

I towed 14k# with my truck a few weeks ago with the stock tune, handled just fine. A true test of towing isn't just going uphill, it's stopping while going downhill... in a turn. Ford frames FTW.

I don't think Allen got the Lariat Crew Cab for towing stuff -- it's pimp as fuck, he's happy with it, and that's what matters.

I did get it for towing. But nothing insane. Like I said, Im building a 55 Ford Pickup, and I needed something to haul the car trailor back and forth around the area to move the chassis. But I also bought it because I have always wanted a 4x4. If I want to take trips, I don't have to worry about space for others and luggage. I wanted a Ford because A. Im a Ford Guy, and B. The payload is much better in the Fords. Fords are built to be workhorses. No more no less.

I did look at the Tundras, Tacomas, Ridgelines, Frontiers, but non compared to the F150. Again, the imported trucks have come along way. I am in no shape or form saying they suck. But when it comes down to what I want/need Ford had the best options. Plus since I did my internship at Haley of Farmville I received an employee discount on top of 2 Ford rebates amounting to about 10K off of a truck that I have always wanted. No where else would have touched that. Now tell me where my negotiating went wrong? I got the truck I have always wanted and a hell of a good price. Free tires and inspections for life? Im not going to argue over that. I really do not want to pay for tires to go on 20" rims. I will be driving it to the cookout/meet whatever it turns out to be. As for bells and whistles......I cannot think of anything else that could go on the truck.

Toolbox, Line-x, and maybe dual exhaust is in the future. Other than that. I'm leaving this alone. Thumbs up to Ford building one hell of a truck.
