I sometimes wonder about insiders. What good does it do for him to tell all his mustang friends that the new GM motor is crap? Does he get into specifics on what is bad about them?

Not everyone on that site has a Mustang. In fact many have LS1's Corvettes and alot of other non sports cars. He just offered his professional experience to a topic someone else made. Yes he did, read the thread. He mentioned the block and pistons.
He isn't going to go out and create a thread to tell people every single thing about the motor. You think you would go out and tell enthusiast about the drawbacks of your product is and expect your boss or someone not to find out?

If you want to believe him then fine, if not that's ok too. I'll listen to him because he is a source who builds and tests the engine, not a 2nd or 3rd hand knowledge. That is the drawback to the internet, no matter what subject matter expert offers good info, there is always someone who claims they are wrong or questions it, regardless of their experience. This is why your well known and respected tuners and engine builder rarely post in the internet to sell offer advice

I ended up reading the whole thread. I wish he had said something about what the weak point actually is in those items.

Of course not. But if you're going to create a buzz, it'd be nice to give a little more information about hte problem.

I wonder why/how GM thinks they can get away with releasing an inferior product. That fact alone makes me wonder about the information - maybe how serious the problem is at least...

Every automaker releases an inferior product at some point or another. Not like Ford hasn't made an inferior product(cough 99 cobra owners cough).Anthony who builds and dragraces his own renegade car, knows what will happen to those who push the engine. He knows who will be buying these cars and to him, he knows where the road will be going.

Like he stated the average person won't see these failures, but those that stress the engine most likely will and that is what I have stated and what Anthony has stated.

Yes. I read you say it and him say it. I wanted to know what about them is weak? Ring lands on the pistons? Cylinder walls of the block? What is actually a weak point is what I'm asking.

The stroke is the same as the LS2, only the bore is larger... GM doesn't fuck up w/ motors like Ford does/did w/ the '99 Cobra.

Haha. I found it funny that the only major problem I could think of from a LSx motor comes from the '01 ZO6. Something Brian just happens to own. LoL
