they can keep the crabs with orange eggs...but ya if they to small they should be throwing them back so we dont have bans and limits on crabbing

 

I dont keep any crabs with eggs on them. That is just making the future restrictions even worse. I actually had this conversation with a guy on the pier one time it went kind of like this.

I pull up a flounder, about 15-16 inches.
He walks over.
"What is that?"
me "Its a flounder."
Him "Oh thats good eatin' size huh?"
Me "No, this guy is too small he has to go back."
him "Yeah but he would taste good huh?"
Me "Probably but he is not getting eaten."
him "Yeah but if it was dark out, you could probably throw him right in your cooler right?"
me "No, that is illegal, it has to go back."
Fish is back in the water by this point.
him "yeah but they don't really enforce those laws do they?"
me "Thats not the point, the laws are there because they are trying to make more fish for the future."
him "well if you catch more that size you can just give them to me."
me "No, if I catch more this size I am throwing them back."
He walked away at that point.

It makes me mad, I see so much stupid shit and waste on the piers.

 

Um, there are already limits on crabs..

Minimum 5 inches and no more then a bussel a day without a comercial liscense..

 

I agree. I am all for just following the law and just doing the right thing.

 

Caught this little guy at Waller Mill last week, middle of the day on a 3" purple/pearl shad with a jig head...

 

Where you out on a boat? We went out on a boat a few weeks back and did not get a bite for hours. Then when we got back to the dock we caught 3 crappie and a pickerel right off the pier.

 

Is there a HP/boat limit out at Waller?

My boat is too goddamn big to go into Smith or Whitehurst..

 

we got 8 dolphin and 2 wahoo a couple days ago out of hatteras, only 16 miles offshore. Saw flying fish about 3 miles out of the inlet.

 

We were out on a boat to the left and almost out by the spillover or whatever you wanna call it. I dont think there is a limit, you just have to have a trolling motor...
