Cool Best d-series trany

What would be a good swap for my HX trany. It has that CVT crap in it and the gears are quite long.

so you have a automatic in there right now? cvt is an automatic trans. id get the 96-00 civic ex transmission. it has steel shift forks instead of aluminum like the 92-95 ex/si.

true, but when the steel fork goes it takes out the whole gear set. the aluminum ones from the s20 just break off, saving the gear set (well most of the time)

like with a 3-4 ZC (cable) gears, and an aftermarket FD.... i would really like to build one, but finding the right ZC gears is like finding an unmolested USDM B16 in Cali....
