From a shop, but I was not the purchaser. My uncle gets decent sized discounts because he is a collector and buys a good amount of guns. I got him to throw one in and they knocked it down to around $550( I gave the uncle $550, but I'm not sure if that was exact. That is what he told me). Usually, I can get almost anything like that.

On another note, the other morning I saw a black guy outside the gun shop (Sometimes I go like 2 times a week. Its an addiction). He asked me if I wanted to buy a pistol. I laughed and said, "Does it have serial numbers?" He laughed and said yeah. He said he needed the money bad and the shop wouldn't pay him for it, only take a trade in.

Well... I offered him $150 cash for it.

It was a .40 S&W. Pretty new and in good condition. He even gave me an almost full box of bullets and a holster. And it did have serial numbers.

Even if everything checked out, that makes me nervous. I don't know why, but I've always been weary of buying used guns. You never know!

And Tim, unfortunately I paid a little more than that with the three clips, but I didn't make off too bad. Having three mags for it is almost definitely overkill and unnecessary, but I did it anyway.

I am too. I didn't expect it to really be anything. Then when I saw it, I was like "Damn, this is decent." So what the hell? I shot it this morning. Fires like a champ, and is clean as hell.

It still seems fishy! lol... You should have asked him 1) Is it hot? 2) How many bodies are on it? lmao

Haha... Doesn't matter to me. I'll be the only one using it and my name isn't on it anywhere anyhow.

BTW, I'm adding some guns to my "For Sale" list. Check it out.

haha, pretty dumb if you ask me.do you have any kind of receipt?don't think that you have any recourse should the cops check that gun and it has some kind of criminal background.you have nothing to prove when you bought it,and who from.
at the gun show, the state police give away private party gun sale forms.it includes the info and signatures of the seller and buyer.it's your responsibility to be able to prove where you got it.....it then goes to that person, all the way back until it gets to the person who bought it from a retailer and it was last registered with the state.if you don't have that, they can get very suspicious.
i'm not sure if troopers maybe carry those forms with them on patrol where you could just stop stop one(or get stopped )and ask for one.i'm sure you can go to any trooper station and get one,or as i said above, get them at the show coming up.they usually have a booth set up in the lobby,so you don't even have to pay admission.

How would the cops check the gun? How could they put a criminal background on a gun they never found?

Don't worry, I thought it over. I'm not worried. I even told the guys at the gun shop.

BTW, I have some forms I made myself. I just didn't have any with me and didn't care. $150? I was all over it. The guy didn't look suspicious either. You racists... Thinking he killed someone just because he's black.

i guess if you keep it locked up at home, you don't have to worry.if you ever have it in your car(going to a range maybe),a cop will check it if you get pulled over. "i bought it off a black guy in front of a gun shop" probably won't raise suspicion.bottom line is IF it ever does get ran,it's all on you to prove when you got it,if something comes back on it,and you have nothing.is it stolen?been used in a crime?what was the guy's name?....ah,screw it,just worry about it when it happens.

i've had several opportunities to buy guns for a good deal under weird circumstances.i'd rather not have to worry about it.

BTW-it's not because he's black that it seems suspicious.if he were Mexican it'd also seem weird.

I'll never carry this one. Just shoot it around some, then I'll probably sell it.

Didn't you catch my first saying to the black guy? "Does it have serial numbers?" He even laughed at that comment.
