I actualy like the new XB's, and I have heard that they have the same motor, as the TC. Mayhaps the TRD supercharger would fit. I do like the Element better than both the tc's though, and lately have been thinking big time about trading, or selling my MSP, for an Element. I still am plotting on another Mk2 MR2, but my main priority is something nice to drive every damn day, in traffic, and with my surfboard, or whatever the hell else i wish on board.
I say get the Element if you can afford one, reason is becasue I have never really seen them with any major problems and the come with a reliable 2.4 liter 4cyl which has a 166hp.
The 1st gen Xb's have a lot of potential when it comes to exterior and interior modifications. Unfortunately aftermarket parts for the engine and suspensioni can be expensive at times and there are not that many manufacturers. Ive seen turbocharged Xb's making about 225whp with built bottom ends. The reliability is amazing, my boy has one and has not had a single problem. Interior is cavernous, but the seats are uncomfortable for long trips. Also another thing to consider is that this vehicle comes with standard traction control and ABS. Most vehicles around this price range do not. I say test drive one before you make your mind up.
