Who cares what kind of cars they are? Is one more deserving of being in a street race?

What do you get when you take a crappy car, a kid that cant drive, and 100 mph? Some dead who didnt deserve it. Thats what drag strips are for people. Use common sense.
Which happens to be the same thing you get when you take a much faster and better (in your opinion) car and do the same illegal activity. Grow the fuck up and realize that it's not just the kids with their thrifity transportation racing on the streets.

It's up to the officer. Story time!!!

When I was 18, I got a ticket for 'Racing' on Cedar Road as soon as you take a right on it from Battlefield. There's only one lane going that way (So I'm not sure how you race someone down there) and my friend was following me home to shoot pool. Hell, I even saw the cop sitting in the gas station parking lot and we were literally driving down the road. The cop pulled us both over and was like, "Ya'll are busted for racing." So off to court I go, I had to hire a lawyer and this was the 10 second conversation.
LAWYER: "Were they speeding?"
COP: "No."
LAWYER: "Were they following too close?"
COP: "No."
LAWYER: "Then why did you pull them over?"
COP: "They were driving suspiciously."

Me, my lawyer, the judge and my parents all had the same WTF look on our face. Then the judge cut him off and was like, "Thanks for wasting out time, dismissed."

And that's my story.

Not that I'm defending the quality of people who street race, but you really should either stop hanging out with kids with shitty cars or get out more.

Up to the officer and it'll probably be a 'yes'. And he'll most likely tack on an 'Exhibition of speed' ticket to it.

That's what I was going to say. Racing has been around since cars were created, and I guarantee that.

Almost 100% of the time if there's a legal sport, there's an identical version of it going on in the underground somewhere.. whether it's illegal street racing, or backyard fights with Kimbo Slice--there are people out there making a living off of it.

Racing had nothing to do with The Fast & The Furious. It gave a false illusion to what street racing was all about, and unfortunately a new generation of kids (and adults alike) caught on and decided it was something they wanted to be a part of. I'm not involved anymore whatsoever, and things certainly have changed a lot, but TF&TF cannot be to blame. That's stupid. lol

You do know that they used to race Chariots that were horse drawn back in the Ben Hur days.

Ok...then go street race...kill some innocent person...but hey, at least you looked cool in the process, right? Im not the one that needs to grow up here. My point about racing in the 20s with muscle cars, was that it started with people making their cars fast enough to out run the police. Once prohibition ended, they had these fast cars, and nothing to do with them, so they would drag race. The Civic comment was sarcasm you morons...And i did not say that muscle cars "never race anymore" read my post before you bash it.

And find me a video with a respectable adult who gives a shit about human life racing, and ill say you just proved me wrong, but all of your "youre dumb" comments have made you look as immature as i thought you were. All of those videos are normally either high school kids, or college kids...and neither one of those two groups are smart...or use half of the common sense God gave them. Maybe this is coming from the perspective of someone who has lost a very close friend in a drag racing accident...once you idiots go through that, then tell me how dumb I am.

Absolutely that's still racing, but as Blah said, that's the officers decision. You don't have to break the speed limit to engage in a race or exhibition of speed. Those are technically two different offenses.

And for the record, there are still a lot of areas where street racing is possibly bigger than ever, and VERY organized. As someone else mentioned, refer to some of the documentary videos or other quality video sources... I've got a few good dvd's of my own that really show just how insane it is in some areas. They take it very seriously and a LOT of money exchanges hands when they hit the street. I mean, hell, even 1320videos is a good example. They prep the fucking street with VHT and a torch... I think they prep better than the race track! lol
