First, you can legally tint stock tails, provided that light still adequately passes through them for running lights, and brake lights.

Second, any 50 State legal replacement lamp, that is already tinted in said manner, and sold as such, approved for use on highway vehicles, etc., is legal to use.


To the Thread Starter: You should check to see what DEPO street legal tails are available for the car, and find the look you like. Most likely, they have a blacked out, or dark lamp, that is DOT approved 50-state legal, and will provide the look and function you desire.

 

Good luck trying to quote all that shit to the cop everytime you get pulled for them. They don't wanna hear it. Keep them stock and keep away the headache.

Same difference. Tint spray is what you use to tint plastic parts. Nightshades, comes to mind. But anyhow...

 

I produce those covers, and frankly i had a set on and old integra and all my past cars, with the reverse light cut out.... and never ever had an issue.

VHT night shades will do that. Wet sand, then clear coat.

Every motor vehicle and every trailer or semitrailer being drawn at the end of one or more other vehicles shall carry at the rear two red lights plainly visible in clear weather from a distance of 500 feet to the rear of such vehicle.



As long as the light shines through when you brake you are fine. Have had mine looked over by State Troopers a few times. Even had one stop when I was installing them at my house.

 

So can you get this stuff locally or do I have to order in from good old ebay!
