Ah, memories.

I've had that one three times. Get real tags, take proof the the judge, you'll be a-ok. Same thing with the inspection, the city sticker, your suspended license, modified exhaust, etc. From personal experience, those five tickets usually come as a bundle-deal.

Unless the judge is racist.

That doesn't sound like a big deal, as long as you bring documentation showing you got it inspected/licensed soon after the ticket he'll probably dismiss your case. You can get away with lots of shit around here. I got out of an inspection ticket by bringing the receipt from getting it inspected a week or so after I got the ticket. My brother got out of a window tint ticket, simply by bringing a picture to court of his car BEFORE he ever got it tinted, and telling them that he had gotten it removed. People usually freak out about these kinds of small things, but my advice is just go to court and be straight-forward, because you didn't do anything wrong, and the judge should know that. You'll be fine. Unless he's racist.

Update for the archives.
*****************************************
Court date was pushed back to yesterday due to the Officers " Personal Leave"

Anyway. Came to court in my Sunday's best. Judge was a blonde haired milf with a Handcuff for a pendant on her necklace.

She asked me if resolved my issues and asked for proof. I showed the updated registration along with my inspection slip. She thanked me, dimissed both charges and advised me to have a Happy Holiday.

Pretty much like a fix it ticket. The end.
