I agree that its is annoying to search threw all the honda shit, but i usually just go to Nasioc.

This isnt happeneing. I could see everyone wanting a seperate classified if this does go threw.

all these idiots have thread titles like " intake manifold for sale" or "body kit for sale" and you go into the thread only to find out that its for a honda or acura.

I will second the vote for a honda classifieds section, just like you did with the vehicle classifieds. Maybe make the parts classifieds into four groups

-Import
-Domestic
-Euro
-General

 

It's highly unlikely this is going to happen unless we redo the entire classified forums alltogether. You fellows need to relize that there are three types of people that venture into the classified sections: 1.) Trolls 2.) Fucking idiots and 3.)Normal/legit people and posters.

The sad thing is that #1 and #2 seem to outnumber #3. And when we make the Classifieds more complex (like adding the 'Import', 'Domestic', 'Euro', etc.. subforums for cars for sale), the #1s and #2s get confused and fuck it up for everyone. The moderation staff probably get 10-15 reported posts a day from idiots who posted their car in the wrong subforum because apparently their Civic is a Domestic in their eyes. And no less than 30 minutes ago, some moron posted his car for sale here in the Help Desk. It'd be different if this kind of thing happens every once in awhile, but it goes on every freaking day.

So if we made a Honda only marketplace, I can gaurentee you that the regular morons are going to get even more confused and make it a complete clusterfuck. It's just not worth it to us to have to go back and regulate it all.

Maybe we can regulate that with more mods patroling the boards to fight against the idiots that do this .... Come up with a warning system if it's a mistake it can be forgiven but if they are trolling (Posting in every section even though there shit isn't domestic,euro whatever) Ban their ass for not reading the rules ... We need something where they have to click they have read those rules before they can post in those sections then you can ban them on the spot for trolling and crap or atleast give out harsher warnings with bans for a week or two ....

I do agree with Blah it will be hard as shit to do but I think we could really make it work with the right # of Mods doing there part.

 

well maybe if vadriven had more requirements for new users to be able to post in the sale sections, this crap wouldn't happen so much.

 

We have the Infraction system now and the best way to describe it is like the DMV point system. Every offense is worth a certain number of points for a certain number of days. When your points get to a certain number, you get a temporary ban and if you get another after that, you're gone for good. Most people who don't get in trouble don't even know we use it. But the problem is that there are 28,000+ members on this site and even with 100 moderators, it'd still be a pain in the ass to keep all of them straight. The best thing I can ask everyone to do is to click the report post button and it will most likely be taken care of within a couple of hours.

 

That's why we started the Trail Membership where people had to be somewhat productive before they can post.


Guys, trust me when I say this is a hot topic behind the scenes. Eventhough this isn't a 'Sell Your Shit Here For Free' site, the classifieds get the most traffic out of everything in the forums. The potential to make it great is there, but we have to take small steps to come to that level without scaring off all of the already established (and productive) members.
