lsvtec questions
im building an ls/vtec motor for about 190-200whp
its a pr3 head with an ls block.
i have been doing alot of research im just not finding everyhting that i want
first question is im not looking to really rev more than stock
will a new type r or gsr valvetrain be reliable or do i need to upgrade?
2. what injectors will be suitable for this build. are there any cars that i can swap from
3.what is a good setup for rods/pistons using stock (ctr/itr/gsr) parts?
4. to do the conversion do i need an obdo pr3 harness?
5. as for tuning if I go chrome, do i need a chip and where can i get that?
I think thats all ive got right now

for the first question i suggest using stock b16 valvetrain but use dual spring on the exhaust side b/c the intake should already have them.
question 2 use gsr injectiors a b17 gsr should work depends on what obd your going
Question3 use ls rod with any other pistons depend on what your looking for compression wise(b16 type r, gsr or just regular type r )
Question 4 no you dont need a pr3 harness depends on what you got and what you need to get vtec to work for example if you have ls harness you need to wire up vtec the solionid is A8 and your oil pressure which is B5 if your going obd0 i have a pr3 ecu with spoon chip and that will elimate the knock sensor so you dont need that
and as for tunig it all depends on your location but if anything just pmme and ask me any other questions

Next, like was said before, use your LS rods. You have to if your useing the LS crank. Now if you can get your hands on some CTR pistons,id go for them first, then itr. If your looking to get 200whp,CTR's are the way to go,ITR's could get you there, but it'll be alot harder, and gsr's wont get you there.
Next,i think other guy answered this one pretty much.
Finally,Yes you need a chipped ECU to run any form of standalone management. There are places online where you can send your ECU to them to get chipped. if you need addresses,PM me
if theres anything esle i can help with,PM me
and as for injectiors any obdo or obd1 injectiors will plug in

To give you an idea: An original Hemi creates the same flow with 3" ports that a Big Block Chevy creates with abour 4" ports. The Hemi creates about 50-70 more horsepower across the band. This is because the air velocity is much higher at the same rate of flow. There's more to it than flow #'s. A LOT more to it!
The power plus intake manifold is great, but I wouldn't use it unless you port your head or at least gasket match the head.
A friend made 205 on a 81.5mm lsvtec with edelbrock cams and a 65mm throttle body on a 12:1 motor.

That's what I wanted to know. How does it compare in cost? Actual horsepower gains?
He didn't compare the manifold to the factory one. Sorry
