I'm doing the work myself for a reason... pride, the hobby of it, and money. It's $6000 to have a targa conversion done to a C5 Z06 and $11,000+ to have it done to a C6Z06 because the car has an aluminum frame and is not deisgned to have the roof taken out at all, it will create excessive chassis flex. Combine the added flex with the fact that aluminum has a fatigue life and that's not good.
Mr. Heiss was knocking me for not having a C6Z06 which he term'd a "real 500hp Z06" because it comes from the factory with a rated 505 HP whereas my '01 came with 385 rated HP.
Thanks for the cliff's notes, I see the error now--I didn't catch your sarcasm regarding the "real 500hp z06"... so it was assumed you were spending $11,000 for it.

All said I'll have $1500 in it sourcing out used parts and doing my own work with the help of a few good buddies.
