Default Next Car: Help me pick!

I'm ready to move on, modded and de-modded (largely) my 95 Prelude and now I just want something stock, just a commuting car basically.

I want good gas mileage obviously, but I also want something that is decent in snow (AWD obvious here). I'm limiting my cost to around $7,500 or less.

I've looked at a few choices:

-Audi A4 Quattro, I could probably get a late 90's model for this price range.

-Saab 9-3 or 9-5 Aero. I don't know why, but I really like some Saabs, unique styling, pretty good performance stock really. Then again, I need a commuting car, so temptation to mod would be BAD

-VW Jetta/Golf TDI, 49mpg sounds very nice!

I've researched each a little bit, know some of the common problems of each, but thats about it. If you have had or know of one of these cars, what are the downsides, other problems to look for, or advantages?

What other cars should I look into?

I think most cars have some problems. I would choose one that suits your most desired qualities and something that you feel comfortable working on if it breaks. Just my .02 cents worth. Just don't put a wing and graphics on it.

You should really broaden up your list of cars you're interested in...

As great as the TDI's are, VW's are gay... and so is the only VW dealership in the direct area.

I'll try and come up with a list of some cars I would consider if I were you, but it may take me a while..

Do you really want Adams help? Please rethink what you might be getting yourself into.

Don't be surprised if you come home to see your house burnt to the ground in the near future...
