My exhaust would set off his alarm so...im pretty sure breaking a window would also.
Now about the tow truck...I really hadn't thought about that but why wouldn't they throw it in the car.

And i dont see why they would put it on the tow truck ( or whatever they used) in front of his house. since he lives on a somewhat hill they probably let it coast to the bottom where they would then put the car on it and then realize that the bumper wouldn't clear and it would be left down there at the bottom of his street.

The people that stole it, probably knew him, and hence would already know how low the car was. So they avoided taking parts off it while in the middle of the road, was probably way more discreet in the driveway, and once on the road, just 10-15 secs and its on the truck and gone.

People need to stop being cheap, and just invest in a good ass alarm, even lowjack if its in their price range. All the time and money invested, for what???

There's a way to break glass without triggering the shock sensor.

I believe there was a proximity sensor on the alarm, however, I don't know what the range was.

He also could have gotten a tilt sensor, which would alert him if the car was towed.

I think I recall his father getting mad at me for offering him "add ons", like backup battery, glass break sensor, etc, because he thought I was just trying to up the sale, but when I saw what kind of car it was, I was sincerely recommending the product. When I went through the sale, I mentioned it, but like most people, he denied. He then told me what was under the hood, so I asked him again, and pushed it hard, but he still just got the alarm with nothing else. I was somewhat disappointed :[.

The car was clean as fuckall. This was before he had done much to the exterior of the car, so he had his mind in the right place by getting the alarm shortly after the swap, but a couple other things would have helped.

X2 on breaking glass without activating the shock sensor. All you need is one of those emergency tools that has the light tap of a certian hardness metal that breaks the glass with ease. At work we had one and i broke a piece of glass with little to no vibration or noise. Pretty crazy.

Airbag and a rod. 20 seconds and they have access to your hood release.

unlocking a steering wheel is fairly simple. Take a hammer and bust the ignition and once it falls its unlocked. The ignition is sometype of aluminum. Why didnt he get the bumper checked for fingerprints or the trim found.

the ignition is cast iron i believe but yea a simple hammer blow will break them, your exhaust sets off his alarm because it vibrates the chassis of the vehicle, a simple piece of spark plug porcelin (sp) will shatter the glass, if the windows are tinted thats even less noise and no glass would be found on the ground, i have had some of every kind of customer bring me their broken in cars, the installer said that he tried to push more security on the car owner and he refused in the end its a fucking honda, #1 stolen vehicle in america for like the past what??? 10 years you can actually goole "how to steal a honda " and get the lowdown. my friends type R eg coupe was stolen and stripped within 15 hours ( they found it 15 hours after it had been stolen) all im saying is that if a thief wants your shit he will get it some way and some how so make it as hard for them as possible, microwave sensor, extra shock sensors, 2 way pager, viper gps, back up battery, tilt sensor even extra sirens.
