I think the loose feeling that you are talking about is crappy bushings. When you did your swap, did you put in new bushing for the shift linkage? That gave me a tighter feel. A short shifter didn't really change anything but the throw.


edit- I see that you have the polyeurathane bushings, but where they new?

i bought the shift linkage used, not sure how fresh the bushings were. Prolly time to replace them

the shifter unless its aftermarket isnt going to make a difference on play hell even a short shifter wont make much itll help a lil not much its all about the bushings

ive seen some shop that put swaps in use a bolt on peoples shifts linkage. which cause a real shitty feel in the shifter. when a spring collar sleeve is what should be in there with a nice tight fit check that out.
