This guy bought a car from me OCTOBER 2006 with the intent to make payments. But after his second payment he never paid again. Took him to court, won the judgement, and am garnishing his wages. He was fired at Best Buy. Now I need to know where he works. He wont respond to PM's so I figure the best way is through the site since everyone knows everyone.

can the courts find that out? it seems like something they could do.

 

Unfortunatley you have to find out on your own. I could get the sheriffs to go to his place and take his shit an auction it off and I get the amount sold but then he'll still owe me.


PS: Never sell a car and do payments. Even if you have a contract youll get some BS like this.

 

My friend did this with some guy in petersburg. After 2 payments he "lost" his job. A couple weeks later we showed up at his job with the spare key and repoed it. My friend still had the title as the contract stated. Turns out he applied for a salvage title behind our backs. We had it back 2 days before he got his title and then reported him to dmv with a copy of the notarized contract. My friend was contacted by some lawyer to which he faxed a copy of the contract and never heard about it again. The car was subsequently sent to the junkyard.

 

Better than nothing.

I did that with one of my old RX-7s. He was my next door neighbor, middle aged with a good job. He'd just had a backrupcy from a divorce and couldn't get financing. It went well for me. I put myself as a lien holder on the title and kept a key. The other nice thing is my condo complex has garages with door, but no walls inside, so I "took" it out frequently because I missed it. He paid it aff and i still drive it! Sorry for your misfortune. I would have the deputies take his stuff... Like said before, it's better than nothing. Or you could just find teh car and repo it...
